A Reason to Smile

After 3 long months of searching for a house and being rejected twice, we finally found a house. We put in an offer and waited. Just got the news about an hour ago, they counter offered and we accepted :-) This house is amazing! I'm praying that we'll be able to get financed for where we need to be. That will be the only thing holding us back. I can't believe we may have a house....No, we WILL have a house!! *That's the way to look at it, Possitively! The house is located in beautiful Irmo, SC. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 master suites and 3 full baths. The second master will be used for a Man Cave and my Scrapbook/Photography studio...it's that big!!! Whoever the previous owners were, they did a very swell job on the upkeep of the interior and exterior. The yard is beauitful, hydrangeas and window boxes full of flowers, a child's playset that Kainen will love...I can't explain how beautiful this house is.
See for yourself :-)

This is my reason to smile for today.
If it is in God's will, this house will be a new beginning for the Shults Family. After being rejected, it hurt..and I wondered if we'd ever find another house we like *They're getting limited in this market* After many searches, this one house caught my eye, and it's more than we could've ever dreamed of. It'll make the perfect First Home.

iHeartFaces Wedding Bells

This is my Brother in Law, Frank.
The object on his head is the garter,
which is made from his favorite shirt.
He used to wear it all the time!
This is a tribute to the Fubu shirt,
may it rest in peace!

I love this closeup of him. Such a good sport!

Just an FYI, they made a blanket for their little boy
with the remainder of the shirt.
How cute :-)

Be sure to head on over to www.iheartfaces.com to check out all of the Wedding Bells entries this week!

Smile

If you have yet to notice, the first letters of each of the words displaying my blog name spell out the word SMILE :-) I've sat for days and days thinking about what to name my blog and that word came to my mind. I thought to myself, well, that's not going to be a very good blog name. One word, sums it all up...but not really what's going to catch people's attention. I also thought so hard about words to come up with that will spell out the word smile when you take the first letters of those words... it was a very difficult task. ***If anyone knows what you call that, let me know. I researched to try and figure it out, but I could never word it correctly. I'm sure if Ask.com had a real person sitting there reading my requests they were probably thinking to themselves, " What is this person trying to say, I don't understand"...therefore, you get an "OOps, we cannot process your request at this time"***
I wanted SMILE to be a part of my blog because I wanted to make an impact, not only for myself, but for others who come across this page. I want to come here everyday and be reminded that God has created this day, good or bad, and you should always SMILE and be happy :-) I wanted this daily reminder.

My reasons to Smile
~ Waking up everyday and being able to see my son, Kainen's, smiling face and kissing my husband as he leaves for work
~ Having such a wonderful husband in my life who loves me for me, and even through all our ups and downs...he's still by my side and spoils me and takes care of me and our son
~ Having such a supportive and loving family, including a very close relationship with my Mom...in which, I wouldn't trade for anything in the world
~ My changes in life...finally being able to feel like I'm on my own, moving away from home, meeting new people in Columbia-getting rid of the shy side of me, becoming a wife and mother all in the same year.
~Having such a caring and helpful group of friends, that has grown enormously within the past 6 months. I love each and every one of them
~The invention of TiVo :-) Being able to record two shows at a time and being able to watch the shows I wouldn't normally get to because of the time or even more important....sleep!
~Playgroups: a great reason to take the cranky kid to the park, being able to talk and gossip with the girls

Of course I had to throw in the humor, too. What are things that make you smile?

And just for fun :-)
A smile is a facial expression formed by flexing those muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can also be found around the eyes. Among humans, it is customarily an expression denoting pleasure, happiness, or amusement, but can also be an involuntary expression of anxiety, in which case it is known as a grimace. Cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is used as a means of communicating emotions throughout the world. Happiness is most often the motivating cause of a smile. Among animals, the exposure of teeth, which may bear a resemblance to a smile, is often used as a threat or warning display - known as a snarl - or a sign of submission. In chimpanzees, it can also be a sign of fear. The study of smiles is a part of gelotology, psychology, and linguistics, comprising various theories of affect, humor, and laughter.

This is my first attempt at a blog and I wasn't really sure what to write about. I just knew that I wanted to share something with whomever came across my page. Of course, I'll probably be writing about the happenings of my day...but I'll make sure that it puts a smile on someone's face. I hope you'll come back and read more of my blog :-)
