Losing It...

...In a million ways :)

I'm losing patience quickly nowadays. I've been keeping my sister's kids this past week and I must commend Moms out there with more than one. I don't know what it is about my kiddo, but he's not into having another kid around. He's kinda bad at sharing, especially when it comes to his Mommy. Looks like it's an only child for me HAHA

I'm losing control of time....only because it seems to be flying by. I can't believe it's already September. It feels like this year just started but yet it's almost over. It's actually quite scary.

I wish I was losing more weight....can I throw that in there?! I'm starting a new routine soon and getting out of the house and walking the bridge in the city. It's huge and it'll be a huge accomplishment for me.

I'm losing myself...
In the situation I'm in recently, I'm losing me. I do give myself a lot of credit, however. I may be losing pieces of me, but I'm also gaining and maintaining, too. I have yet to lose my hope, faith or trust. May be in some people and instances in my life...but I have the hope that things will get better, the faith to believe in it, and the trust to keep moving along!

Losing has never looked so good in my life. I had an interview on Wednesday for a job I'm really hoping I will get. It will make things so much easier for me and my family....it'll help things fall back into place. I'll know tomorrow if the position is mine :) So, here's to that HOPE FAITH & TRUST!

I'm waiting for all this loss in my life to keep taking it's turn for the better and I gain everything in life that I'll ever need/want. One day next week will be a deciding factor. If you are a religious person, please...I ask you to pray for me on Tuesday. I'm losing my 3 factors when I think about that day, but I know it's all in God's hands.

“Without faith, hope and trust, there is no promise for the future, and without a promising future, life has no direction, no meaning and no justification." Adlin Sinclair

The View From Here

I started my "do good" journey yesterday by being a hero and donating blood :) There was a local blood drive blitz happening and I wanted to be a part of it. My mother and I made a trip to one of the many locations set up and gave our blood to save a life! My view from our experience was amazing. Many people showed up in the 2 hours we were there, some even donating double. There were a ton of volunteers from the American Red Cross setting up tables and chairs, manning the canteen area, taking info and even watching my child! I was blessed to be able to share the experience with my mother and for the good feeling I have knowing that my donation may save a life.

American red cross Pictures, Images and Photos

If you are a healthy individual and feel like you can make a difference, please don't hesitate to find your local American Red Cross and donate. They are always in need of blood, especially the rare types. Just think about how many lives were saved yesterday by the many people who came out to the 3 locations in a 12 hour period. I made a difference, you can too!

Sunday FunDay

Getting to know YOU

1. If you could host a Reality TV show, which one would it be?
Amazing Race, most definitely. I love that show! It'd be an easy way to travel around the world :) and even get paid for it. I'd love to be a contestant on that show too
2. Do you put your seat belt on before or after you start the car?
It's a little bit of both. I sometimes let it go until it starts warning me that I'm unbuckled. Usually I put it on between starting the car and putting it in reverse
3. Shave or hair removal cream?
If the hair removal cream was permanent, I'd be all up for that. For now, I'm shaving.
4. What's your favorite feature in a house?
A fireplace is always nice. But my favorite feature in a house would be that the whole house is mine! One day that'll happen...
5. What is your favorite "Fall" scent?
As weird as it may sound, I'm all about the smell of burning leaves. If I could I would bottle it up and make a candle! There's just something about the smell.
6. What tv show are you looking forward to seeing the most this Fall??
Grey's Anatomy...of course! I'm ready for all my favorite shows to return, though..I'm tired of seeing reruns :)
7. Personal Shopper or Personal Chef?
Personal Chef who likes to shop...haha I'd hire a personal chef to help me eat healthier. Then after I lose the weight, he or she could go out and help me shop for new, smaller clothes! Isn't that genius?!
8. What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of "Fall"?
Leaves...I think of the leaves changing and all the wonderful colors out there. I love the colors of orange, red and yellow...how they surround you! I think it's a good color combo :)

Find Myself

These past couple of weeks have been the pretty hard on me. I'm beaten down, but not yet past need repair....and I'm thankful for that. I know I can be a strong person and I will get through this. But why does it have to hurt so bad? Why do we say such cruel things? I really need to find myself....

I need to do something good with my life. I'm doing my best with raising our son, at least I like to think I am. I tried my best at being a great wife. Now I just need to DO my best in being me! But who am I?

I'm a mother, a daughter...a sister, an aunt....a grand daughter, a niece.
I'm a Christian. I'm a lover and a fighter. I'm a believer!

I'm a high school drop out, with a diploma, however.
I have no desire to go back to school, hence the drop out.
----Does that make me less of a role model....a good mom? I don't see it that way

I have desires, hobbies, dreams...but where will they lead me?
I need to do something good with my life...I want to do good!

I've recently purchased "Eat Pray Love" and I'm hoping to start it this weekend. I'm hoping it's the kind of book I need right now. Call it self-help, call it motivation. I need this.

In the next couple of years, things are going to change drastically. I'm hoping that I change, too. The desires and dreams I hope to make a reality.

I would love to do something for charity...whether it be to run a race for a disease or donate.
I want to sponsor a Compassion child and share the extra love I have with them.
I want to be a teacher again and help children learn and grow. It's the best part!
I want to start photographing again and include scriptures with the photographs...
Nothing is better than seeing God's handy work through a verse and nature!

With an ending approaching, another book begins. I'm working on the chapters now and I'm hoping for the Happily Ever After this time.

But first, I need to find myself!

Getting to Know Me

Getting to know YOU

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
Hhmmmm, baseball players cheat with steroids :) Golfers are usually older :( I'd say Football players!
2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
I'm a planned procrastinator...it's in my blood. Well, not really. I just get really slack when it comes to important things, unfortunately!
3. Diet or regular (soda)?
Regular soda, if I drank it...I'm a water girl all the way! I think diet tastes super nasty for some reason.
4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
For fall this year, I'm gonna say a lightweight scarf. I never have attempted the look, so we'll try it this year. Of course, you can't forget the boots too :) But in SC you don't really need either until winter. Fall is just an extension of summer.....summer falling away LOL
5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
Does Subway count? I could eat there everyday. Although, I can't forget to stop by McD's for my addiction, Mocha Frappes!!
6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?
I'll get back to you on that one :) Sexy can be smart or it can be dirty...you choose
7. Did you wear braces?
I most certainly did and I'm very thankful for my orthodontist for correcting my horrible teeth
8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
I'm with Keely on this one...Kind is Sexy

Friday the 13th!!!!

I can't believe another Friday is here, it feels like last weekend just ended. I swear this month is flying by. Here's another 5QF brought to you by Mama M :)

1. Have you ever visited another country?
Yes I have! I was lucky enough to be a student ambassador and travel two summers in a row. I've been to Australia and Europe. I loved both trips very much, I learned alot and matured with those experiences. I would love to travel back to both one day!!!

2. Where is the strangest place you have ever been?
Ya know, I can't really think of a strange place...I guess that could be a good thing HaHa

3. What is your favorite season?
I prefer fall, not too hot and not too cold...the leaves are changing and I love Thanksgiving, to Give Thanks for what we have

4. What one song will always cheer you up?
Alot of songs right now cheer me up, they give me hope...I'm in a situation where I need that right now. There are a few songs I'm listening to because the lyrics really hit the spot, they speak to me!

5. What Disney character do you resemble most?
Hhhmmmm, I have no idea. There are tons of Disney Characters out there, too many options! I love them all :)
---------------------------------------------------------------

And then there's the Friday Fives with Just Me and My Life

Just Me and My Life

FIVE FAVORITE WEBSITES

~Of course I love Blogger...I'm here daily catching up on my blog roll and trying to get my blog caught up!
~ Then there's the stalker friendly site, Facebook :) A place where you can be friends with the people you really hated in high school and "stalk" them and a place where you can also learn some strange habits of your true friends ;)
~ Craigslist! I'm always there either looking for some good free stuff, checking out job listings, or searching for some cheap items I can turn into masterpieces!
~Inspirational Blogs, Yes YOU! I love to read certain blogs, ones that give me inspiration in my daily life. Whether it be crafting, religion, families, home decor...I'm always stopping by these sites to get my daily dose of hope ("one day I'll have that").
~Cafemom. I haven't visited this site in a while, but I'm going to get back into it! It's a great place to meet new friends and learn more about the abilities and disabilities of your child...maybe even learn more about hobbies etc. It's a fun place to be!

Three years have gone by...

Three years ago, a baby boy was placed into my arms and my life changed....I became a Mother! I knew right there that I'd have the best and most loving relationship with this little being for the rest of my life. A mother's love for her son is unique, nothing could ever match it. I know that one day I may lose him as his heart is handed to his wife, but I'm going to treasure the moments and hold onto him until then.

We had a little get together for him yesterday, nothing too big or fancy. I knew that the easiest way to celebrate him was to make it more about HIM than the decor :) Of course I had to throw in a Lightening McQueen here and a Mater there, and it made my day to see the giddyness of my child when he saw his cake and balloons. I've never seen him so happy!! I don't think it's truly set in yet, but my handsome little boy is loved by so many and I am so thankful. I do wish things were a little different for him nowadays, but not a day will go by without telling him how much he is loved and spoiled. I even promise not to spoil him too much...but he's Mommy's little boy!

Three years ago, my heart no longer beat inside of me...but crawled and will forever walk beside me! A little bit of that heart aches today as my child ages another year. Time seems to be flying by and K is growing up too fast.
Three years ago, I was staring at ten fingers and ten toes and rubbing the fuzz that was on his tiny, precious head. Today, those fingers are counting and those toes are growing and he glows with his shiny blonde locks. His words are a plenty and his play time is full of imagination. He's not so tiny any more, my baby is past 3 feet tall. I would like to say that I'd love to keep him small forever, but I can't wait to watch him grow and learn....and love!!

Friday Friday Friday Friday Friday

FRIDAY FIVES!

Here's Five Question Friday, brought to you by My Little Life
1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?
I'd like to say I'm a neat sleeper. More or less, I go from neat to messy. I fall asleep with the covers perfect on my, nice and straight...and I wake up with the sheet all tangled at my feet and the comforter half on me. Whatever! Either way, I enjoy my sleep :)
2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more ________________.
Confident! I definitely lack that, unfortunately
3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?
Haha, this could go so many ways...but I'll take the nice way out....and not say anything at all
4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?
I don't think I've ever found anything good at either. Its always junk where I am, which is a complete bummer! I did find some good treasures at a thrift store though....love those places.
5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?
Chili's Crunchy Chicken Crispers meal with veggies and a choco chip molten cake on the side...total yumminess right there!! Excuse me while I drool....
--------------------------------------------

This weeks Friday Five is...
5 Things You Miss About Being A Kid!
Brought to you by Just Me and My Life...

Number 1 answer for this would be the IRRESPONSIBILITY!
No bills to pay, no one to take care of but myself....all fun and play!
The endless play-barbies, blocks, bike riding...it never ends
My imagination! I always wished for a Happy Ever After
No drama...at least not the adult kind. There were a few tears shed over unshared toys...haha
The energy to do whatever all day!!

**Dont forget to enter the Wonderfully Wordy giveaway below. It ends Monday!**

Letting Go...

As mentioned before in a previous post, I'm having issues with the blog. I'm also having some issues in my life. I'm at a point where it's time to just let go of some things. I can't really go into detail at this moment though. I've come to a standstill and I'm stressing and grieving...and everything in between. This is not where I saw myself. I never wanted to be where I am today. I love my life and everyone in it, but sometimes you just have to do what's best for others and yourself. I've matured a lot, some people may not see that, in the last few months. I'm quite proud of myself and the things I accomplished, however, I feel like myself is to blame for everything that has gone wrong in my life. I know that I could do better, that I can do better. I will do better..eventually. Right now, it's about being the best mother...daughter....sister...grand-daughter...and aunt and worry about things falling into place later. I know that God wouldn't put me in a situation I couldn't handle. I have the strength to get through this and I will!! Strength is taking a look at where you are, and from there, getting to where you want to be, no matter how hard it is or how long is takes to get you there....
I promise to not be such a Debbie Downer, for I have other things to rejoice about. I'm letting go and letting God as I usually do. My baby boy is turning 3 on Monday and that's something to definitely celebrate. I wish things were different for him, but I know that one day he will understand. He's still young and it's time to party and celebrate his life! I can't wait to watch him prosper in the years ahead...my little man is growing up to fast. I'm never letting go of him!

Summer Lovin'

Last night was our first experience with a Drive-In and it definitely held up to it's expectations! We got there a little early to scope things out and get situated. Kainen loved that he had the whole back of my durango to sprawl out in....but that didn't last long. That's not unusual for him though, even at actual movie theaters he likes to shuffle. He played musical chairs for the whole movie but he kept his eyes on the movie the whole time :) We are definitely going to go back as often as we can!! For only $7 per person for 2 movies, sitting in the comfort of your own chairs or cars..the surround sound at a comfortable level and concessions at an affordable price; not to mention it's just a few miles down the road....this is a tradition that will continue for us and I can't wait to catch more features at the Starlite!

Here's my little man patiently waiting for the movies to start!

Here we are cheesin', all comfy and excited that the movie is starting!

At Starlite, we caught two super awesome movies....Despicable Me and Inception!

Despicable Me (2010) Pictures, Images and PhotosInception Pictures, Images and Photos

Despicable Me was definitely as cute as it looked in previews. I definitely give that one *****5 stars! The little minions were too cute, made the movie even cuter. Of course there's the little girl who gets the unicorn and shrieks "It's so Fluffy" is another cute part in the movie. This movie has a great storyline. He goes from Super Bad to Super Dad, as the movie poster displays. Despicable Me is definitely being added to our movie collection once it's out on DVD. Do your kids a favor and take them to see this adorable movie...you'll become Super Mom/Dad!

Inception was an incredible movie, however, it confused the crap out of me. It's kind of up there with Shutter Island for me. With saying that though, I did enjoy this movie...whether I really understood it or not :) The storyline was amazing (and understandable) once my hubs went into detail of it! Haha The graphics were out of this world and the selection of actors were superb...as usual Leo doesn't disappoint. I give this one ****4 Stars! I would definitely be willing to see Inception again, hoping to understand it more thoroughly. I think I've learned that I need to stick with Chick flicks and comedies though...or at least action packed movies whose stories I can comprehend. I would highly recommend anyone see this movie, maybe you will understand it and love it..or even get confused, but you'll still love it. Do you dare to Dream?!

In a Perfect World..

Lately, some things have just been falling apart in my world. Yet, at the same time...others seem to falling into place! There have been plenty of times where I wonder why things happen and I get super frustrated. I've learned that in every experience, I just need to let go and Let God. He would not put us into a situation He knew we couldn't handle. Sometimes, we've made it through a situation, but not without a couple of obstacles in our way.

So onto a fun way of looking at things after that serious bout....

In a perfect world, I wouldn't be without my camera. :( My poor Kodak has been through the ringer. The viewing screen in cracked and the battery door won't close. Therefore, I am looking through the little hole to take pictures and holding my battery in at the same time....now that takes Skill! Without pictures, I feel like my blog is lacking and that is why I have only done blog hops for the past two weeks.
In a perfect world, we would be caught up on bills and be living care free for once in our lives!
In our perfect world, the hubs has taken on a new job in which we will have the chance to get caught up and live care free for once in our lives!
In our perfect world, with the extra money we're going to make in the coming months, I can afford to purchase the beloved new SLR camera :)
In a perfect world, we'd have a little companion by our side...a dog to cuddle with. After the runaway of our Doodle, we took in one of my mom's 5 yorkies. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out and Gracie is heading back to SC come August. In a perfect world, we would go out and rescue one of the pups that are at a local shelter.

Anyways, enough of dreaming about the what's and if's. Here's to hoping I can bring all those wants and needs to the surface. For now, it's trying to make the most of the time and money we do have :) It's the last day off together for the hubs and I for who knows how long. We're heading out to the Drive-in tonight for 2 showings....Despicable Me and Inception. I'll definitely be back for a little review of them both! Should be an exciting experience...my first Drive in Fun...I can't wait. What's so awesome about it is the fact you get two features for the price of one ($7), and in the comfort of your own car :) WOO HOO

In a perfect world.....WHO am I kidding?!? There's no such thing as a perfect word! I will wait...
But in the meantime...because I could be waiting for years. Here's to making each year as perfect as it can be for my family!

Five Question Friday

Friday Friday Friday...where are these weeks going? It's going to be Christmas before we know it! Here's another 5QF brought to you by Mama M :)
1. What were your school colors?
I see a trend here...Purple and Black. Or more specific, purple-silver-black. I'm totally not a fan of purple...I'm more of a blue girl. But it's not like I went all out and decked myself in school colors at every pep rally...
2. What's the best compliment you ever received?
I get compliment all the time on my eyes...so I like that one as far as physical goes. Mentally, I've been told I am a very caring person, and I love hearing it. I'm very compassionate about what and who I do love. Also, I love compliments about how good my child is...but those are few and far betwee n
3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?
Expensive!! We buy ChaChaCha Charmin! I'm spoiled with my toilet paper....
4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?
No to both :( I'd love to have a surprise party thrown for me though..hint hint to everyone
5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?
My camera....although it's a little broken at the moment....and I am having huge withdrawals!!!!! But it usually goes with me wherever I go

Top 2...Need It, Want It Purchases

The Undomestic Momma has made today's Top 2 all about Purchases....and lately I have two things on my mind that I really want/need. This is just bringing it up front in my thoughts and torturing me, but I'll share anyways :)

My number one choice would be:
Nikon D90 SLR Digital Camera Kit Set Pictures, Images and Photos
A nice SLR camera!! I'm in need of a new one sooooooo bad. My poor Kodak has been through the ringer....cracked screen and no longer has a battery cover! I'm so sad, I don't like being without a camera. And with my child's birthday coming up, I'm hoping I can fix it with a little duct tape so I can capture the happenings of that special day

My second purchase would be:
COACH BAGS from ABC SHOP CLUB Pictures, Images and Photos
A fresh new Coach purse of course! I think I deserve it :) I got tortured last weekend at the outlet. Their clearance was marked 50% and an additional 25% off that....hubby said no! I can't wait to be able to purchase something with my hard earned money. SOMEDAY!!!!

Yeah yeah yeah...as you can see I'm so materialistic. But hey, a girl can dream right?! These are really the top 2 things I would love to get my hands on. Hope the time comes sooner rather than later!

I'm linking up to the following Blog hops. If you're visiting from either, Welcome :)

Getting to know ME

Happy Happy Sunday! Here's another GTKY brought to you by MannLand5
Questions~

1. If you had to choose a country to live in besides USA (or the country you live in), which would it be?

I would definitely choose Australia! I spent 20 wonderful days there back in Summer 2004. It was a great experience. The people are friendly, wonderful sights, and a beautiful country all around :) One day we will go there again...I hope

2. Which would be worse, wearing flip flops in the snow or wearing gloves in the summer?

Since I'm from SC and wear flip flops year round, I'd say gloves in the winter. I'm ok to wear flip flops in the snow, I think wearing gloves in the summer is just crazy. I'd rather have cold feet than sweaty palms

3. Fried or Bake and why?

Baked....it's healthier, I think. But it just depends on what we're talking about

4. If you were an entertainment reporter, which celeb would you love to interview and why?

That's a tough one...can I just choose a broadcast network and interview the cast of all their shows :) hahaha

5. What was your favorite book as a preteen/teenager?

I wasn't really a reader when I was young. I'm still not today...but if I'd have to say it was probably "The Old Man and the Sea"

6. List your top 3 guilty pleasure television shows.

Greys Anatomy, Big Brothers, & WIPEOUT! Good night and Big Balls...

7. What bumper sticker slogan best describes you/your attitude/your life?

My husband has said "Caution: Frequent Stops" ...thanks Dear! But if I were to choose, I'd say "Life is a journey, not a destination"

8. If you were to join a circus - what performer would you be

one of the beautiful women who do tricks on elephants and horses....or maybe the Ringmaster!

Friday Fives

I'm hoping to one day get up enough courage to Vlog like Mama M has done :) But for now, it's just going to be these words typed out for you guys! Here's another Five Question Friday

1. Do you collect anything?
I used to collect frogs when I was little. Right now, they're packed up in boxes and bags. The plan is to break them out when(if) we have a little girl and decorate the room with my childhood memories :)
2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.
Just three?!? Where to start...
Jake Gyllenhaal Pictures, Images and Photos Rusty Pictures, Images and Photos Patrick Dempsey Pictures, Images and Photos
I couldn't just name them...had to show off their hotness ;)
3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind it (them?)?
I have one major scar, it's from when I went to get a little skin graf done. They were done and went to put A stitch in and the needle fell INTO my arm! The look on my mother's face showed me that something was wrong. The doc lost the needle. They had to poke me with 2 more of them to locate the needle inside during an xray. Needless to say, I went in thinking I would come out scar-less...yeah right, they had to put more stitches in to sew up the HOLE they created in hopes of finding the needle! I got a couple of free visits after that...
4. What is a food that you like to eat, but others might think it's gross or weird?
I don't think there's anything I eat that people may think is gross or weird. Sorry...
5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life?
Never witnessed a tornado...although I have seen a water spout. That lasted all of 15 seconds, but it sure was interesting!!

Determination

This month has seemed to fly by. Actually, this whole year has flown by... I don't know what it is, but I can't believe we're already mid-July. August is closing in on us and that means that my baby boy is turning 3 soon! I can't believe I just said that, he's growing up too quickly. I've finally got his invitations ready for printing and I'm very pleased with how they turned out. Not to mention, K loved it. Can you tell what his all time favorite movie is?! I was determined to get one last birthday party planned "our" way. I'm thinking next year, at four, he'll have a mind of his own. All in all though, I know this will be one party he will remember.

As I mentioned before, I'm unsure of what I want to do at this point in my life in regards to employment. Right now, I work in retail, and I'm not very happy with it. I've given some thought about changing jobs and put out my resume to a couple child care facilities. There are so pros and cons with working at both jobs, however. My husband has received an awesome opportunity to work with a company I know we'll love. Not to mention the fact he's getting a huge pay increase! With his awkward hours (4 days a week, 12-1030), I can't really decide where I want to be. I'm thinking that if I stay at my job now I'll have more time with him and maybe get days off when he gets days off. If I were to go to a daycare, I'm looking at 8hrs a day Monday thru Friday. Now don't get me wrong, it's an ideal schedule....I just don't want to miss out on quality time with the hubs. With that job, we're looking at 4 hours tops with him in the evening, and one day with him on the weekends. If one of yall are in this situation, please tell me how you make it work...it'd be greatly appreciated.
Speaking of putting my resume out there, I received a call today from one of them and I have an interview scheduled for tomorrow. It's a closer location and the setting is nice. I'd love to be able to put K in an awesome environment and not have to leave him with the in laws all the time. I'm hoping it'll work out and I'll get the job. Please, keep me in your thoughts and prayers..that all goes smooth tomorrow. I'm thinking that if I don't get this job, I'll most likely stay with retail. However, I'm determined to make the most out of either situation and SHINE!
I have yet to hop on the ball and get this stART fun in motion. I'm hoping to make a trip to the library tomorrow and pick up some books for the kiddo and have fun with arts and crafts! I'm determined to get motivated, I love fun times with my little man :) He enjoyed a little finger painting 4th of July weekend, and if he knew what I had planned...he'd be one happy boy. If he could, he would paint every day all day. He keeps seeing the paints and brushes and paper lying around, and in this cute and innocent voice he proceeds to tell me "Imma paint Mama, I wanna paint with my finngers!" I just love this kid.

A few other things I'm determined to do:
~Kick my Frappe habit...or at least knock the weekly number down :)
~Order an official copy of my marriage license so I can get my driver's licence....Finally!
~Go see Eclipse. I've seen preview after preview, guest appearance of actors from the saga continuously...it's just torture I tell you! And if you'd like to know, I'm Team Switzerland ;)
~Mail out those cutesy invites to family and friends...but first, gotta hit up the Post Office for Stamps...and hey, while I'm there, finally fill out a change of address form!
~Get our adorable pup, Gracie, to potty outside on the leash (anyone know any tips or advice?) She was my mom's dog and she's used to just being let outside to roam leash free in their backyard. I can't get her to go on the leash for the life of me! I finally got her to eat, so that's one less task to force on her!
~ Blog better this week. I need to get back on my Blog Horse. I fell off last week and I'm ready for the ride this time. Next up, Tuesday Hoppin'

ABC's of ME

Let’s get this party started, shall we?
A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on: somewhere between 73 and 75. And even then, we have 2 fans on us in the bedroom! I like it cold :)
B- My BEDROOM theme is: boring right now. We're in the midst of changing our theme. The walls are very bare, and I don't like it. We're looking at changing the room from brown and blue to red and black. I think we can handle the change, every other room in our house is brown and blue. (Not kidding)
C- The CAR in the driveway is: I drive a Dodge Durango & Jason drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
D- My DESK looks: bummy :) My desk is my lap, and I'm currently sportin' pjs..yes, at 2 in the afternoon!
E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: 810. K seems to be on somewhat of a schedule now...finally, after 3 years. HAHA
F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: my hair.
G- My GARAGE is filled with: an imaginary mess because a garage is non-existent. But the truth be told here is that it would definitely be a store all if we'd have one
H- My HOUSE is: clean...minus a few CARS strung around the house. I get on a cleaning spree when I have a few days off!
I- If you peeked INSIDE my bedroom you'd see: an unmade bed...and bare floors. For once, you can see the floors. We are horrible at just taking our clothes off and leaving them on the floor.
J- My favorite JUICE is: cranberry
K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: that my husband loves to be in it :)
L- The LAST person who visited my home was: my Momma, and I wish she would come visit more often!
M- The last piece of MAIL for me was: bills...what else!
N- My NEIGHBORS think I'm: loud..nice...amazing. No really, I have no idea. Haven't really "met" any of them
O- If you OPENED my fridge you'd see: leftovers, lots of meat for our dinners, lots of milk, and lots of juice.
P- My last house PARTY was: ..... I guess I need to get on this one too!
Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is: pizza or a skillet sensation. I'm not really a cook
R- My favorite ROOM of the house is: our living room. It looks complete, minus a mantle.
S- The SHAMPOO brand I use is: Tresseme
T- My largest TELEVISION is: 42in. working, 52in. needing repair
U- UNDER my bed you will find: my craft supplies. We have a platform bed and the drawers underneath are a good storage place for all my scrapbooks etc
V- The last time I VACUUMED was: this past week. That's one thing I forgot
W- Looking out my WINDOW I see: trees and the neighbor's cars
X- I wish I had X-TRA: arms....because every Mom wants that, don't lie! OR of course I could use extra money, but that's about to happen anyways.
Y- My YARD is: non existent, yet again. We live in an apartment. However, I have a beautiful hanging flower on our balcony..and it's actually still alive!!!
Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is: anywhere between 9 and 1....yep, that big of a gap. It just depends on how awesome my day was!

Mommy and Me

Lately I've been feeling like a bad mom. My son watches movies and plays in his room all the time...he's a very independent boy. He doesn't like to sit and read books or play games, however, he does enjoy to color and paint. I feel like I've let him down a little by not teaching him things, but I swear he's learned so much by watching Nick Jr. I surely can't teach my kid Spanish! In hopes of getting K to love reading and learning, I've decided to go a little art project :) I'm going to venture out to our local library and pick up a couple books and do some crafting based on the story we read. I'm all about crafts and coming up with fun stuff to do, especially with my little man. I'm thinking that cars are going to be a big hit with K at first, might as well start off with something he loves, right? I've kinda got it all figured out...I just hope I'm not doing an overload. I'm looking at getting 5 books a week. My ideas so far are cars, zoo, sea life, farm life, and planets. I think they're all good subjects to focus on. I'll definitely post our progress, too!
I read on a blog that there's actually a a little program...it's called a Great stART :) Stories and Art! with A Mommy's Adventures. I'm hoping to learn a few things from her blog, too!
I'm off for the next couple of days so I'm hoping to get a jump start. First things, first...gotta get a library card. Then it's off to my most favorite place, Hobby Lobby of course. I'm so addicted to this store, any reason to get me there and I'm a happy girl!
I can't wait to start my Mommy and Me time with K, I'm so looking forward to this!

Hope you all have a Happy and Safe 4th of July.

Top 2 Tuesday on a Deserted Island

Today's topic of choice is...
Top 2 Things (not people) you would take to a deserted island
I would definitely be taking my hammock! I'm not a girl scout or brownie who knows how to pitch a tent or make a fort out of sticks and leaves :) I need some sort of comfort! Maybe if I'm lucky I could find a palm tree for shade or a cave for protection from a Tropical Storm, lol.

hammock Pictures, Images and Photos

And of course I'd pack my Blackberry, it's like my computer..but better! *I wonder how good service and reception is on that island?* :) I would make sure to have a full battery of course...or even an extra, also. At least I'd still have somewhat connection to the world; blogs, facebook, twitter. Wifi anyone?!

Inspiration

Let me start first by saying that with all these blogs I follow, I'm super jealous of almost every one of you! Each one of you has a great quality to yourself as a person and a great eye for design, crafting, etc. It's insane how many of yall are so talented...I'm uber green with envy! Every blog I visit gives me some sort of inspiration, whether it be interior design (because there are some gorgeous looking house out there), crafting, photography, gardening....and then there's the not so materialistic; inspiration on how to become a better wife, mother, sister, friend, and even blogger. You all are inspiring individuals! I can't wait to read these blogs daily.

So since we're keeping up with inspiration, I'm sharing a few things that have inspired me lately. These are things that I currently would love to own, create and do!

We have an entryway into our home and it boasts a very boring, white wall. I've seen a couple of looks that I think would make the wall pop....but only one stood out to me!

My plan is to gather a bunch of frames, size and color varying. I'd like to paint them all black or a dark blue (because I'm a spray paintin' queen). The idea I have is to get a collage frame and have that as the main focus and then sort the empty frames around it. I have a framed silhouette of K that will be put in an empty frame, too. There's a bunch of ideas going through my mind...and of course when it all comes together, I'll post a picture. For now, it's searching for the perfect frames, because I have yet to start this project! I'm hoping it doesn't take too long, because if I could..I would buy all the frames in one day. Instead, I'm spreading it out with trips to salvage stores, dollar stores, etc in hopes of finding the perfect frames! Wish me luck :)

With Monogramming being a hot sensation right now, I'm hoping to dust off my Cricut and get hopping on some fun initial items :) It's the season of weddings and babies...something monogrammed would be a great and affordable (not to mention home-made) gift.

I'm sure the list could go on and on, but I have a tendency to go a little overboard....start one thing, go to another and never finish anything. This time, I'm setting my mind to actually finishing a project!

I'm even hoping to open an Etsy Shop soon....Inspiration is a great form of motivation!

Getting to Know ME!

Today is a girly version of GTKY :), brought to you today by Amanda at The Daily Scoop . Make sure you head over to MannLand5 and here what Keely and all the other girls have to say. Get to know someone!

1.If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?
A tummy tuck...because every Mom wants that flat stomach back!! Although, I'm not sure if 5k would even cover that ;)
2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
I loved watching Passions, that one was my favorite!! Don't know why they discontinued it, haha. I watch As the World Turns now..but that one's also coming to an end.....bummer!
3. Favorite clothing brand?
I shop mostly at Old Navy and JcPenny. I don't have a favorite brand...just a favorite store! I
4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
An afternoon shopping spree of course :) I'm not one to let other people clean my house...I may not be OCD but I do have my way of doing things...not other's!
5. would you ever vajazzle?
Well, taking the fact that I just had to google it..that'd be a no.
6. Favorite Disney Princess?
I think I'm torn between Belle and Cinderella....but they're all a Princess, they each have a happy ending and fall in love with a prince!
7. Last movie that made you bawl your eyes out?
I don't think I've ever bawled during a movie...
8. Have you ever broken any bones and if so what?
Never (knock on wood)

Friday Fives :)

This week has seemed to go by super slow! I don't know if it was the fact that I didn't have an almost 2 year old tantrums around or I didn't work for 6 days in a row...or maybe both. But boy, this was the slowest week for me. Actually, maybe it was because Summer started and messed everything up :)
Anyways, here's another 5QF brought to you by Mama M!

1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument?
I can play the piano...but not as well as I used to. And I actually suck at reading sheet music! I picked up the songs that my sister would play just by listening to her practice. If I HAD to play just by sheet music, I'd still be doing Mary had a Little Lamb or Row Row Row Your Boat..but since I play by hearing the song, I've learned Battle Hymn of the Republic and Fur Elise :)
And now I have one of those keyboards that lights each key as the song progresses...I could be a genius with that one, however, I haven't played in some time!
2. What is your pet peeve while driving?
People slamming on breaks in front of you when clearly the car in front of them is a couple hundred feet away!!! Oh and when pedestrians walk super slow across the crosswalks or when stupid people move slow in parking lots (walking of course) I just hate slow movers!
3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services?
Since I'm not really keen on having someone else clean my house, I'd definitely go with spa services! I'm one who enjoys cleaning house :) And the spa services would be like my reward....how sweet is that?!? Too bad those services couldn't include lipo and boob lift! haha
4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or high school dance?
Any old dance song, Tootsie Roll..Da Dip. It brings me back to the days of summer weekends spent at the Citadel :) Those are the memories!!
5. What song best represents your life right now?
Hmmmm, I don't really know...I think I'll leave this one blank for right now! I'll get back to you once I actually have some time to think about it.

And here's a first, Friday Five with Just Me and My Life

1. If given a choice to skip work for a day, how would you spend the entire day?
I would spend all day on my couch cuddled in with a pillow and blanket and watch chick flicks all day! It would be even greater if I was on some tropical island cuddled up in a king size canopy bed with the ocean waves crashing in the distance. A girl can dream right?!
2.If you could start fresh, what profession would you choose?
I love working with children, so really...anything that involves making a difference in a little one's life! I love watching them grow and learn
3.What is your favorite candy or candy bar?
Milky Way Midnight..or Reeses...Starbursts....Smarties. Anything chocolate or fruity :)
4.Have your ever ordered anything from an infomercial or bought an"As seen on TV item"?
I've recently purchased a couple of "As Seen on TV items". I bought the Strap Perfect and the Snuggie in one day! The Snuggie was a Father's Day gift to the hubby...and he wears it constantly. He even jokes while he's covered with it..."I can read a book while wearing my snuggie! I can talk on my phone while wearing my snuggie! I can play with K while wearing my snuggie!" He's such a goof. Oh and the Strap Perfect is exactly that...PERFECT! I got a super lift with it and a little bit of cleavage to boot...I'm a happy woman. I can even wear the Razorback shirts now, too...cause a girl who's a little top heavy deserves to look good (in a classy way of course)
5. Whats the movie you ALWAYS cry at??
Any romantic movie! Any movie with a kid getting hurt or dying..Any sad movie really! I'm a huge sap :)

Top 2 Tuesday

The Undomestic Momma has pitched a good topic today for Top 2 Tuesday. This week is all about the Top 2 Reality Shows you would be on. Now everyone knows that there are a gazillion of them out there! They've practically taken over Night time television. I think I'm not going to be the only one who will have a hard time narrowing that list down! In other words, there may be runner ups and a top 3 & 4 of this topic :)

MY ultimate choice coming in for first pick would definitely be:

Amazing Race Logo Pictures, Images and Photos

Who wouldn't want to travel the world with a loved one and doing fun & sometimes absurd tasks all for the chance of $1 million dollars!! With every reality show comes drama and sabotage, and even The Amazing Race doesn't come short in that department. Now if only I could find someone to go on the show with me. Any takers?!?

It was a tough pick but my number 2 slot goes to:

big brother Pictures, Images and Photos

I've been a die hard fan since season 2 and I'd love to be a contestant on Big Brother. I think my only downfall would be that I'm a married woman...therefore, there'd be no flirting my way to the top. (Unless otherwise told by my husband, lol) Once again, you have no lack of drama and sabotage...you add in a little showmance and fun & games, it's a great show!

My other top choices, if there would be a top 10 would be :)
~Wipeout! Hello, making a fool of yourself on TV...why not?!? And who doesn't love the big balls!
~The Mole. I don't know if they're going to bring back this show, but it's awesome. It's like playing detective...however, I think I'd prefer to be the mole; you'd last through the whole game!
~ American Idol. If I could ever just grab that bull by the horns! I've been told several times to audition, but I'm just too shy. My husband (who can sometimes carry a tune) even said he'd audition with me if it'd make me go. Awww....sorry honey, not good enough!
~Dancing with the Stars. If only they had a "Dancing with the Moms" because in no way am I a star. But oh the joys of spray tans, shiny outfits and good looking partners! Sign me up. And hey, it's a great way to lose that unwanted weight :)
~America's Next Top Model. A girl can dream, right? They recently did petite models...now they should do Plus size models...under 6ft of course. I could do some pretty good smizing (Smiling with my eyes, WORK IT) I love the two Jays too, and to work with Tyra. HELLO!! Hint to the network...it's time for us plus size women to shine :)
~The Biggest Loser. Do they take contestants who weigh less than 200lbs? I just need that little push from Jillian and gorgeous Bob and I'll be good. I tell ya, I watch every season with a carton of ice cream by my side...how horrible is that?!?
~What Not To Wear. I could sure use a whole new wardrobe. I'm not one to walk out of the house in sweats and baggy shirts, but I could start if you'd like to nominate me ;)
~Survivor. It's my last choice. I'd freak and probably wouldn't be the survivor. I don't know what I'd do....

There ya have it. I went a little overboard...but might as well throw them all out there!
What are your favorites?

Getting to know ME!

It feels like it's been forever since I've done a GTKY! It feels nice to be sharing info about me to my followers...and to come to realization of a few things about myself ;)

1. While at the beach, pool, etc..Do you cover up your assets or show them off?
Realistically, I'd like to show the top assets off and cover up the ass-ets :) I'm a little top heavy, so I can't really find a cute bathing suit to suit them. I have to go to the women's sizes just to get something to fit them! I usually end up with a very covered up look. Hence, my suit is a a one piece skirt look....ending up covering all my assets.
2. Road trips or Plane trips?
Eh, I would love to get a camper and do road trips...but I'm not a fan of just sitting in the car in one spot for an extended period. I enjoy plane trips, but preferably long ones...like over seas. My trips to Oz and Europe were loads of fun on the plane, 3 meals...snacks...different images of land and see out the window..movies galore. I'm really wanting to take a plane trip somewhere now. Ooh, but I think ideally I'm all about cruise trips :) Sailing the open sea...can I choose that instead?!
3. I can't stand it when...?
...People judge before they know the situation.
...Kainen brings out toy after toy but never cleans up!
...things get blown out of proportion.
The list could go on and on but I think that's my top 3
4. Have you ever gone topless at the beach?
No thanks! I don't think that'd be a great sight. Now, if I had the body like a swimsuit model..I might consider it (only at a topless beach though!). The only time I was given a chance to was when I was in Europe on a Student Ambassador Program...not exactly suitable for my age or circumstances to go topless!
5. How many blog carnivals do you do a week?
I'm thinking maybe 3 or 4. Maybe more, if I really go back and count!
6. My favorite thing about the weekend is...?
Actually going out and doing something! I'm not one who works Mon-Fri and has weekends off, so they're really not something to look forward to...unless both the hubby and I are off. Then I'd be excited about the possibility of a date night :)
7. Pancakes or waffles?
Hmmm, I like both! I love Waffle House Waffles and Eggo Strawberry ones, too. Then there's IHOP's pancakes....yum! I'm totally wanting either right now (Drooling on my keyboard)
8. Water Park or Amusement Park?
I'm not one to really like to go out and be in my bathing suit in front of a couple hundred people. I'm more of an Amusement Park girl! I love an adrenaline rush and roller coasters do the trick. I'm hoping for a trip to King's Island soon, I need my adrenaline fix.

Hello Again World!

I'm back :) Finally! It's been a long 2 weeks since I last blogged. A lot of things have happened since then. I've been without internet (the person we were "borrowing" from must've caught on, lol) and it feels like it's been forever since we've had television. Well, we finally got it set up yesterday! This Mama feels reborn....technology is back in our lives. So, it's time for a catch up for myself and others.
Good things and bad things have happened in the time I was apart from my blog. The last time I wrote was when we were in Chicago. What you all didn't know was the reason why we were there. My husband's favorite Aunt was killed when a semi struck her vehicle the first week of June, so we were in Illinois to pay our respect to the Shults family. It was a mixture of feelings, emotions were running super high that weekend. I was feeling sad for my husband and the loss he's going through, but happy to meet the rest of the Shults' clan and for J to be able to see family he hadn't seen in forever. Some stuff had happened the day of the funeral, tempers flared and things were said. It was a day I'd rather much like to forget now. My husband and I had talked about the big D and more things were said and feelings were hurt. Long story short, things are ok on our home front and actually getting better. Love notes are being left behind on our runs out to work, cuddle time is more frequent, kisses last longer and hugs are tighter. I swear, we love each other so much it hurts some times. And still, through everything we've been through...we're still going strong.

Well, amongst the mist of the big D, my family came to visit; I needed a rock...for I was an emotional wreck. I got to see my grandparents and even my mom stayed behind to visit for a week! During her stay, things between the hubs and I got better. Now, I know all along that my family and some friends are sick of hearing about our problems. Every marriage has their issues, none is perfect...and as it may seem that we have mostly downs, we're working on it. My mother is one of those people who has strong opinions and she will let them be known. As much as she hated me not going back with her, she didn't let her ruin the trip here with us. I enjoyed my time with her and I miss her terribly. I took her to TN this past Thursday to meet up with my grandparents and head back to Sc.....she even took a cute little package with her, Kainen! Yep, that's right...K is in beautiful Carolina while the hubs and I are enjoying our time together, focusing on us. It's what we needed...Thanks Mom! Oh and it gets even better, because when she brings K back, a little pup will come along with him. My yorkie, Gracie will be coming to live with us (I miss my Doodle, we need a furever friend back)!
Another thing....my boss quit!! While I took a few days off to gather my emotions and whatnot, I came back to work only to find out that my boss' last day is next week. I'm super sad about this, I love my boss and I really wish she was hanging around. I'm still hoping that I'll be up for the full-time position, as we are still in desperate need of the money. Who knows, too....maybe I could be considered for the Management position, because there is NO ONE interested in our store!! It's going to be a crazy next couple of weeks, while K is away I'm working 3 days a week :( and the hubs is doing 40hrs. I'm hoping to get some scrapping or crafting done with all this free time on my hands. At least now I have tv and internet to entertain me...since my other entertainment is in SC!
Anywho, it's Father's Day here, my hubby received a very thoughtful gift (a snuggie) and we are just lounging around until this afternoon. We are heading to a birthday party for a special little girl. It's a beautiful day out and I'm super stoked to be getting out of the house! Hope every one has a beautiful Sunday. Hug your dads and grandfathers today, tell them how much you love them! Happy Sunday...Happy Father's Day

Five Question Quicky!

I've been without internet for quite a few days, I'm having blog withdrawal!!! I'm doing this 5QF really quickly :) We've just arrived in Chicago (Will explain more later) and I'm hopping on before we head out the door.

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?
Well, I never went to College in the first place, but if I jumped on the bandwagon I'd most likely go for Early Childhood Education. I love working with children and to be a part of their lives as they grow and learn, what could be better?!
2. What do you love most about your home?
Well, we don't have a "home", we rent!! But I love that it is now all situated and unpacked, since we've only been there for 2.5 weeks. If we had a "home" I'd love that it'd be OURS the most!
3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?
Of course I joined the craze and read Twilight. I'm not really a reader, but I like to compare movies and books...so when there's a movie coming out after a book, I'm all about reading it! I'm also a huge fan of Tori Spelling's books, they're a good laugh and sometimes you learn some stuff....Seriously, Tori is one smart cookie :)
4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
Haha, do you really want to know!?!? I could spare you all, but I love telling the story, I feel like such a WOMAN ;) So...the grossest thing I've ever eaten is Cow Testicles (Aka Rocky Mountain Oysters) It was on a trip to Australia and I was all about trying new things on the journey. But it gets worse than that. I ate said "food" after witnessing the poor cow get castrated and watch them fry it. Talk about an experience! haha
5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
Hmmm, I'd love to be any doctor on House or Greys. I'd love to witness first hand the snark and sarcastic Gregory House! And...to work with Dr. McDreamy , HELLO...who wouldn't!
